About the College
The HKE Society envisioned starting a program in architecture with aim to cater to the needs of Building and Construction Industry in Northern region of Karnataka. The Department of Architecture was established under the aegis of PDA College of Engineering in the year 1983-84 with an intake of 40 approved by the Council of Architecture and affiliated to the Gulbarga University, The Department of Architecture has celebrated its “SILVER JUBIILEE” in 2009 and has achieved many feats and awards. Its alumni have spread all over the globe serving the Building Industry at various positions. In 2015 the intake was enhanced from 40 to 80 by the Council of architecture, New Delhi. To strengthen the Architecture Program, the HKE Society’s governing Council in its meeting dated 29-05-2019, resolved to convert the Department of Architecture as a Standalone School of Architecture. On 21st. September 2021 the HKE Society’s proposal to name the School of Architecture as “Poojya Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji School of Architecture” was approved by the Council of Architecture. School has a team of well experienced and highly qualified Post Graduate faculty members from prestigious universities & Institutions like, Bangalore University, SPA Delhi, IIT Roorkee, RVCA Bengaluru, MSRIT, JNAFAU- Hyderabad, DOMUS – Italy and many other institutes to say.
